New Year Kick Off Letter

 Dear Class Members,

I just want to take the time to invite you to “come grow with us” in Sunday School! I am very excited about the new church year, and I am very excited about a new year of Sunday School with you. I hope and pray that each of you will make every effort possible to be in class on Sundays at 10:00 for class. You are missed when you are not there, and you really miss a chance to receive a blessing that God has planned for you.

Our literature is a little different this quarter, and I like it! I’ve really tried over the last year to prepare the lessons in a way that we can have discussions and where you don’t have to just listen to me ramble on and on. Well, that’s the approach the literature now takes! I like the new approach, and I think that you will really like it, too.

One thing that I am supposed to do is e-mail you e-votions each week because of the change in the literature. However, I have asked Ashley to put a link on the church web-site so you can access these at your convenience. Click here to access the site and find the week’s e-votion and click to read. I encourage everyone to read these during the week. They’re short, easy to read, and powerful. (Those of you teaching other classes, this would also be great for you.)

Finally, we have had a lot of people from our class go teach other classes. We have also grown into another class (Couples II). This is outstanding! This is what Sunday School is supposed to do. Those of us left behind have a job to do, though. We have a calling as we remain in our class. We need to go out and recruit new members to replace those who have moved on. I want to encourage each of you to do this. Think of someone that you know that would fit into our class and invite them to come to class. Also, fill out a prospect card, and we’ll make arrangements to make contact to invite them to class. Let’s make it our goal to add new members to our class, to Morningside, and to God’s kingdom this year.
